Cleveland Clinic Florida is looking to add a Department Manager I to the team who will oversee the entire ambulatory footprint for Weston Hospital along with two  Weston Medical Office Buildings with providers from varied specialties including Cancer, Neurology, Cardiology, and Rehabilitation. In this role, you will standardize workflows to reduce barriers to achieving metrics, involve yourself in caregiver escalations, and work through HR processes regarding staffing, performance and patient experience. It will be your goal to ensure that caregivers and providers have the support, tools, and resources to help meet patient needs, requiring this caregiver to be emotionally intelligent, wanting change, and driven for results. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Availability to virtually support teams on Saturdays will be required, as needed. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

  • Manage department operations and personnel. 

  • Complete staffing, training, workflow analysis and performance management. 

  • Manage staffing to ensure appropriate allocation and compliance with goals and objectives. 

  • Monitor quality and financial performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with government health regulations, JCAHO guidelines, quality requirements and customer service standards. 

  • Recommend enhancement and cost-saving strategies. 

  • Resolve interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application. 

  • Develop, monitor and implement programs to enhance customer service, develop skills and improve scope of service. 

  • Analyze programs and make improvements. 

  • Participate in manager meetings and relevant committees as assigned by Director. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Associate’s Degree and three years of team lead, supervisor or manager experience  

  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience  

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience 

  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or a related field  

  • Healthcare experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.

  • May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.

  • Must be able to walk to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision to normal range.

  • Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
