Schedule: Monday - Friday | Days 8a-4:30p

 

SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for the sterile processing of dental instruments, equipment sanitation, operatory turnover, and maintaining compliance with infection control guidelines. As a key member of the dental support team, this position will ensure that all instruments are properly decontaminated, packaged, sterilized, and tracked in accordance with CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Instrument Decontamination & Sterilization: Clean, inspect, and safely handle contaminated instruments; operate ultrasonic cleaners, washer-disinfectors, and autoclaves while following strict sterilization protocols.

• Inventory & Storage Management: Store sterilized instruments in clean areas, rotate stock using FIFO practices, and assist with tracking and restocking supplies.

• Operatory Turnover & Support: Help clean and reset treatment rooms between patients, disinfect surfaces, and replenish chairside kits and supplies.

• Infection Control & Compliance: Adhere to OSHA, CDC, and ADA guidelines, use proper PPE, and report any equipment or protocol issues to management.

• Equipment Maintenance & Recordkeeping: Perform basic maintenance on sterilization equipment, log sterilization cycles and testing, and maintain all compliance documentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Sterile Processing experience

• Prior general or specialty dental experience

• Strong attention to detail, organization and commitment to infection control standards

EDUCATION:

AS: Dental Hygiene (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

DH - Licensed Dental Hygienist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$17.60 - $18.60Rochester14621

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
