Dental Assistant - Lakewood Dental Clinic - PRN As Needed101 Truman Medical CenterThe Dental Assistant I supports dental providers by preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures. This role assists with chairside duties, takes x-rays, maintains supplies, and ensures a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
Assist dentists and hygienists chairside during treatments
Greet, seat, and prepare patients; take vital signs as needed
Take digital dental x-rays in accordance with safety policies
Clean and disinfect treatment areas; support instrument sterilization processes
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
Assist with impressions, digital scans, and lab preparation under supervision
Perform basic clerical tasks, including posting charges and reviewing schedules
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and organizational policies
Promote patient safety, quality care, and a positive patient experience
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Good verbal communication skills
Maintain BLS certification for continued employment
Preferred Qualifications
One year of chairside dental experience
Completion of a Dental Assistant training program or equivalent on-the-job training
