Demand & Fulfillment Planner - 18 Months Contract

What you’ll do


The Demand and Fulfillment Planner fills a vital role within the purchasing organization, working as a business partner with every member of the pod. This key role operates the Demand & Fulfillment process for a portion of the business, reports to a Demand & Fulfillment Manager, and works within a pod to deliver increasing sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity.
 

Strategy

  • Contribute to seasonal line reviews

  • Contribute to business strategy for the pod

  • Organize and facilitate a consensus process within the pod to ensure alignment on the forecast and replenishment plan

  • Accept feedback throughout the network and action where required

  • Channel recommendations for merchandise physical flow

  • Recommend inventory strategies for the pod

  • SKU rationalization within store assortment plans

  • Collaborate with vendors on inventory constraints and opportunities

  • Reverse flow recommendations where required

  • Coaching and mentoring on demand & fulfillment planning best practices within the pod

  • Recommendations on how to improve systems, processes and ways of working

  • Meet or exceed all measures in key performance indicators and work to ensure that measures and metrics are aligned to business intention and strategy

Demand & Fulfillment

  • Set up demand and fulfillment plans & parameter assignment according to business strategy

  • Manage demand and fulfillment exceptions

  • Tune model parameters and demand plan weekly in-season

  • Provide ongoing projections to vendors for replenishment merchandise

  • Approve daily transfers and orders

  • Keep current with demand and fulfillment planning best practices

  • Fill gaps, crisis coverage where required

Size Scaling

  • Create size scaling purchase orders including the updating of collections & the building of size curves seasonally

Purchase Order Management & Analysis

  • Purchase order management

  • Managing physical product flow exceptions

  • Managing information flow exceptions that may inhibit physical flow

  • Embrace and support the rollout of new strategies

  • Ad hoc reporting as required

What you bring

  • Degree and/or equivalent 2-5 years experience, with a combination of experience in retail, merchandising and cross-functional roles

  • Experience with advanced forecasting and inventory replenishment toolsets preferred

  • Experience & interest in retail preferred and the ability to understand the big picture

  • Advanced problem-solving capability

  • Advanced multitasking capability

  • Intermediate level MS Suite

  • Strong analytical capability and self starter

  • Strong communication skills
