Job Title: Delivery Manager – Finance

Location:

San Francisco (SF), Hybrid (2-3 Days a week)

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee the end-to-end execution of finance-domain datasets powering large language models (LLMs). In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams of finance experts, data annotators, QAs, and client partners to ensure on-time, high-quality, and cost-effective dataset delivery. You’ll drive operational excellence, scale delivery capabilities, and continuously refine processes to enhance productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Ownership: Define and execute delivery plans for finance datasets — including project scheduling, resourcing, and risk management.

  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete dataset delivery lifecycle — from requirement gathering and specification design to annotation, QA, and client handoff.

  • Finance Domain Collaboration: Work closely with finance SMEs to convert complex financial concepts (e.g., sell-side, buy-side, trading desks, investment banking, private equity, compliance) into dataset and annotation requirements.

  • Quality Assurance: Set and uphold quality benchmarks for accuracy, consistency, and completeness; provide performance reports and delivery metrics.

  • Operational Scaling: Build and manage internal and external teams; identify process bottlenecks and recommend tooling or automation for improved throughput and quality.

  • Risk & Issue Management: Anticipate delivery challenges such as delays, data inconsistencies, or scope changes and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams; manage expectations, communication, and escalation.

  • Process Optimization: Develop and refine SOPs, delivery dashboards, and KPIs; promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and control budgets, vendor costs, and resource utilization to ensure delivery within defined financial targets.

  • Team Development: Mentor delivery leads and team members; foster best practices for high-performance dataset operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 5–8+ years of delivery or program management experience in data, analytics, or AI projects.

  • Strong understanding of finance workflows (investment banking, PE/VC, trading, sales, compliance, risk).

  • Proven experience leading data annotation, dataset generation, or data pipeline projects for AI/ML applications.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities; thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Experience managing vendors/outsourced teams with defined SLAs, KPIs, and quality metrics.

  • Familiarity with annotation platforms, QA tools, and dataset version control systems.

  • Competence in budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in Finance or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2).

  • Experience in financial services operations or creating datasets for finance-focused AI models.

  • Background in global delivery and remote team management.

  • Understanding of AI/ML data lifecycle and annotation best practices.

  • Hands-on experience developing delivery dashboards, metrics, or automation solutions for scaling dataset operations.
