Working closely with the Branch Manager, the incumbent supports the safe delivery and pick-up of welding equipment, parts, supplies and accessories to and from our customers.

  • Working closely with the Branch Manager, supports the safe delivery and pick-up of welding equipment, parts, supplies, and accessories to and from our customers.
  • Safely coordinates and executes the delivery of equipment, parts, and supplies while demonstrating safe and courteous driving on the road.
  • Champions efficient and excellent customer service when delivering or picking up orders, helping customers with any questions and providing an overview of equipment operation if necessary.
  • Performs DOT safety inspections of fleet vehicles before operation to confirm all vehicles are in excellent working order.
  • Maintains DOT driver logs and reports, completing required paperwork prior to delivery, at the time of pick up, and for monthly fuel tax reports.
  • Assists with shop housekeeping and helps technical personnel collaboratively around the shop when not driving or assisting customers.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines and collaborates and communicates openly with all branch staff.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma. Post secondary education equivalent to a one year technical college or equivalent is an asset.
  • Valid Class 1 or AZ driver's license with a clean driver's abstract and CVOR - please attach a current DA and CVOR abstract (dated within the last 30 days) to your application.
  • 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a pick-up and delivery capacity.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations (DOT, provincial HOS).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cylinders and equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for pre-trip inspections and minor vehicle checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement is an asset.
  • Prior forklift experience
