The Position

Deja tu Huella - Government Affairs & Market Access Intern 

What do we offer?

To be part of a new cohort of the Roche-CEU San Pablo postgraduate degree as an expert in the Pharmaceutical Industry. 11 months of internships at Roche where you will participate in challenging projects and benefit from pioneering postgraduate training in the market about the pharmaceutical industry.

You will have the opportunity to get on-the-job training by working on key projects with your designated department from Monday to Thursday and attend in person postgraduate classes at the university on Friday.

Our main location is Madrid, we are open to applications from all over Spain but relocation will be needed as part of the program expectations. Office attendance is expected (with some flexibility) to enjoy the connection to our colleagues, network and get exposure.

Last but not least, you will have mentorship by a Roche tutor who will give you continuous feedback to develop your professional skills. The mentors for the program are Roche’s senior and experienced young talent development professionals.

Purpose of this internship:

The objective of this internship is to support the strategic articulation of Social Value within the Government Affairs and Market Access area, contributing to Roche’s ambition of integrating Social Value as a key pillar for competitiveness in light of the expected regulatory changes in 2026 and beyond.

The intern will gain cross-functional exposure by collaborating with Government Affairs, Market Access, Squads, and field teams to support advocacy initiatives, stakeholder engagement strategies, and tactical plans that operationalize Roche’s Social Value strategy in the healthcare ecosystem.

Additionally, the intern will have exposure to Market Access activities linked to upcoming product launches in Ophthalmology, gaining insight into access strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and the healthcare ecosystem. 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to understand how public policy, access strategy, and cross-functional collaboration contribute to improving patient access and strengthening Roche’s positioning within the healthcare system.

What would be your main responsibilities as an intern?

The intern will contribute to projects and operational activities within the Government Affairs and Market Access teams, including:

  • Supporting the alignment of strategic priorities and shared initiatives across Government Affairs and Market Access.

  • Participating in the development of annual strategic plans and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).

  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of periodic internal newsletters and strategic updates for field teams.

  • Supporting the execution of Social Value tactics together with MAPs within Squads and HSPs in the field.

  • Collaborating in cross-functional projects related to advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and healthcare policy monitoring.

  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and materials to support strategic decision-making and internal alignment.
     

What are we looking for in this position?

  • Recent graduates or university students who will obtain their degree in the summer, preferably in Healthcare Sciences. A Law background will also be valued.

  • Preferred additional studies in Health Economics, Public Affairs, Institutional Relations, or related fields.
     

We are looking for proactive, organized, and curious candidates with a strong interest in healthcare innovation, public policy, and the social impact of the pharmaceutical industry.

Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • Strategic and regulatory thinking, with interest in healthcare systems, market access, and funding mechanisms.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence without formal authority.

  • Commercial and cross-functional mindset with the ability to connect business needs with institutional strategy.

  • Advanced level of English and Spanish (C1 preferred).

  • Knowledge of Office 365 tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Interest and familiarity with AI tools and digital ways of working.

  • International academic or professional experience will be considered a plus.

  • Passion for improving patients’ lives and motivation to contribute in an innovative and challenging environment.

  • Commitment to dedicate yourself full time to the program from September 2026 to August 2027.

  • For international students, have a valid NIE or work permit in Spain.
