The Deductions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Deductions team and ensuring timely, accurate resolution of customer deductions, disputes, and financial variances. This role partners closely with AR, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate root causes, reduce invalid deductions, improve processes, and strengthen overall financial performance.

The Supervisor is a hands-on leader who provides guidance, ensures policy compliance, and drives continuous improvement within the deductions workflow. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of the Deductions team, ensuring workload balance, timely processing, and accurate resolution of disputes.

  • Review, approve, and oversee complex deductions involving pricing, shortages, damages, freight discrepancies, and promotional allowances.

  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing performance feedback to team members.

  • Develop and maintain standardized processes, documentation, and policies to strengthen deduction management.

  • Collaborate with AR, Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Customer Service to resolve issues, identify trends, and address root causes.

  • Work with management to reduce invalid deductions and improve financial recovery performance.

  • Prepare and present deduction dashboards, KPIs, and reporting to leadership on a weekly or monthly basis.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and internal controls.

  • Support cross-functional initiatives that enhance cash flow, reduce financial leakage, and streamline dispute workflows.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or related field and 2+ years of relative experience in deductions management, accounts receivable, dispute resolution, logistics, or related; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively.

  • High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
