The Web team is seeking a highly capable Decoupled Drupal 10 Engineer to own and evolve the backend architecture powering the global Forcepoint.com experience. This role is central to ensuring a performant, stable, secure, and scalable content platform that seamlessly integrates with our Next.js frontend and supports our rapid content operations, multilingual environment, and AI-era personalization roadmap.
A successful candidate brings deep Drupal 10 expertise, understands the complexities of decoupled architectures, and knows how to build structured, high-quality APIs that improve content authoring velocity, reliability, and downstream performance. You think in terms of architecture, scalability, and impact. You also care deeply about clean data models, consistent schemas, caching strategies, and building CMS features that create value.

Responsibilities Include
Maintain the Drupal 10 backend powering Forcepoint.com.
Architect and enhance decoupled GraphQL APIs supporting the Next.js frontend.
Build robust content models, fields, entities, and workflows for a large multilingual site (12+ languages).
Ensure consistent, structured, and scalable data formats for frontend consumption.
Develop backend features, modules, and enhancements that improve authoring experience and reduce operational friction.
Build scalable internationalization patterns.
Support integrations with external systems
Implement caching strategies.
Optimize API performance, backend query efficiency, and database structure.
Ensure platform uptime, reliability, and resilience in collaboration with hosting partners.
Partner closely with the Next.js engineering team to ensure smooth API contracts and high-quality data flows.
Participate in code reviews, documentation, architecture discussions, and mentoring of other devs.
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for backend deployments.
Monitor site health, logs, exceptions, and performance metrics (New Relic, Drupal Logs, LightHouse).
Required Technical Skills
Expert-level Drupal 10 development (modules, hooks, services, configuration)
Strong experience with decoupled Drupal and GraphQL
Strong PHP 8+ skills and understanding of modern backend engineering patterns
MySQL/MariaDB database proficiency (query optimization, schema design)
Experience with Drupal caching layers
Experience building multilingual and multi-region content architectures
Composer, Drush, and modern Drupal tooling workflows
Git version control and collaborative engineering workflows
Nice to Have Skills
Experience integrating Drupal with Next.js frontends
Pantheon or similar hosting platforms
Symfony knowledge
CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
Understanding of web performance and Core Web Vitals
Security-first engineering mindset, experience with compliance workflows
DevOps or containerization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes)
Qualified Candidates Should Have
5–7+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong emphasis on Drupal
Demonstrated experience building decoupled or headless CMS architectures
Experience working in agile, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to translate business and marketing needs into elegant backend solutions
High attention to detail, quality, and long-term maintainability
Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
