DCS Operator

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 48 hours per week

Shifts: 12 hour shift rota 4 on 4 off followed by 10 days off

Location: Chilton Power Station, County Durham, DL17 0PB

As a DCS operator you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Energy

What you’ll be doing; 

• Operate and monitor plant from Central Control Room

• Operate plant and equipment based on operational demands of the Biomass facility

• Support Shift Team Leader with Health and Safety matters

• Use Safe Systems of Work to ensure safety of personnel, contractors and visitors

• Ensure compliance with site Environmental Permit

• Provide technical supervision and assistance to company and contract staff

What we're looking for;

• Experienced operator from Power station background

• Completed recognised Power station Operational Apprenticeship/Training or recognised industry qualification

• Broad experience in shift working in continuous process industry, preferably Waste Incineration environment

• IOSH passport safely certificate or equivalent

Where you’ll work 

You will be based in the main plant control room, where you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a 54MW thermal water tube boiler and 17.45MWe turbine generator. The shift team comprises three operators working a continental shift pattern with rolling 10-day breaks.

Important Information

This position operates on a rotating continental shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off. The role requires availability to work weekends and Public Holidays as part of the shift rota to ensure continuous operation of the Energy Recovery Facility.
