We believe in creating an environment where associates can grow, make an impact, and help move our brands and business forward.
Let’s Talk About the Role…
As DC Training Specialist, you will own the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of operational training and certification programmes across the Almelo Distribution Center.
You will ensure that every associate, from new joiners to experienced operators, has the knowledge, skills, and certifications they need to perform safely, compliantly, and effectively.
Working at the intersection of operations and people development, you will lead the DC training team, partner closely with the Compliance Specialist, and work across Operations and HR to translate SOPs, audit findings, and business priorities into practical training that builds real capability on the floor.
Your work will directly influence operational performance, audit readiness, and the long‑term strength of the site.
How You Will Make a Difference…
Lead and manage the DC training team, ensuring consistent execution of training standards across shifts and departments
Create a structured, reliable training operation that supports the site during peak periods, audits and periods of change
Design, develop and deliver operational training programmes aligned with approved SOPs, compliance requirements and business objectives
Ensure onboarding, refresher and peak‑readiness programmes prepare and certify associates before they operate independently
Maintain training materials, manuals and e‑learning content in line with current SOPs and compliance standards, ensuring accuracy, version control and usability on the floor
Partner closely with the Compliance Specialist to translate compliance requirements, audit findings and CAPAs into targeted training and re‑certification plans
Review certification outcomes, identify recurring gaps and ensure training embeds the right behaviours, not just completion
Assess training needs using operational KPIs, audit results, compliance insights and stakeholder feedback
Measure training effectiveness and certification outcomes, reporting regularly to DC leadership and driving continuous improvement
Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation to support audits and ongoing compliance
Actively support audit preparation activities, including evidence provision and walkthroughs
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:
Every associate completes onboarding and role‑specific training on schedule and is fully certified before operating independently
Training completion and certification rates remain consistently high, with no critical compliance or audit gaps
SOP updates, audit findings and CAPAs are quickly reflected in training content, with verified embedding through re‑certification
The DC training team operates with consistency and reliability across all shifts and departments
DC leadership has clear visibility on training coverage, effectiveness and outstanding risks through structured reporting
A visible culture of continuous operational learning is established, with associates and Team Leaders taking ownership of their development
Skills for Success
MBO or HBO degree (or equivalent) in Learning & Development, Operations, Logistics, Education or a related field
3–5 years of experience in training, learning & development or instructional design, preferably in an operational or logistics environment
Proven experience managing or coordinating training programmes in a distribution centre or corporate operational setting
Strong understanding of SOP‑based training, standard work and operational certification processes
Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e‑learning platforms, with solid knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles
Strong communication and presentation skills, able to engage diverse operational audiences
Strong organisational and project management skills in a fast‑paced environment
Analytical mindset with the ability to measure, report on and improve training effectiveness
Collaborative working style, building strong relationships with Operations, Compliance and HR
Experience with time‑based operational metrics (e.g. TACT time) is a plus
