About the location:

Seaside glamour on the Egyptian riviera; with Egyptian underpinnings and a sleek waterfront setting, our resort-style Hotel embodies modern Alexandria and its unique cosmopolitan flare. On one side, the Mediterranean Sea glistens in the sun; on the other, a dynamic metropolis buzzes with life. This stunning resort-style hotel opened in June 2007 and has a combination of classic hotel design and modern and contemporary beach suites and villas. Our hotel is connected to a shopping mall, it has 154 rooms including 31 Suites, 30 Beach Suites and 6 Villas with private pools, a private beach, a sea water infinity beach pool and a heated indoor pool, Spa and Fitness Center, and 10 food and beverage venues including an open-air 350 seat beach restaurant.

About the role

Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria is looking for a Day Auditor who will be responsible for the verification and reporting of hotel revenues, the review of paperwork turned in to Accounting to document such revenues and the preparation and publication of a Daily Revenue report to be used internally by the Hotel Managers to review financial performance and to forecast future business levels.

What will you do:

1. Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with co-workers and supervisors, in particular, maintain a solid rapport with Front Desk, Reservations, Food & Beverage, and other departments that turn in paperwork to Day Audit.

2· Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as outlined in EmPact. ·

3.Coordinate work with other functions within the Accounting Department, ensuring a seamless flow of paperwork to the Income Audit and, when necessary, other functions such as Payroll

4.Collect/Audit paperwork from all revenue centers in the hotel ensuring accuracy and compliance with Four Seasons’ Internal Controls and local hotel polices.

5· Ensure that accurate room revenue is captured, recorded and posted.

6· Ensure that accurate F&B outlet revenue, Banquet Food and Beverage Revenue and F&B Miscellaneous Revenue is fully captured, recorded and posted.

7· Monitor and record all house account meals and entertainment expenses and report any non-compliance to the Assistant Director of Finance for follow up with the hotel management.

8· Balance income against the respective ledger balances in the PMS system (guest ledger, city ledger and deposit ledger) and any discrepancies are corrected as identified and brought to the attention of Assistant Director of Finance.

9· Verify credit card settlements and transmissions to receipts in bank and outstanding balances are traced for future receipt and ensure exceptions are investigated and anomalies are brought to the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance’s attention.

10· Update credit card reconciliations on a daily basis that agree to transmissions and receipts; where credit card numbers are stored electronically, no hard copy of the numbers should be retained on file.

What will you bring

  • At least one year experience as day auditor in 5 stars hotel

  • A working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Four Seasons Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures as it relates to Income Audit.

  • Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-Job or through a series of professional certifications.

  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate computer equipment.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

  • Knowledge of Excel is a must as well as a sold mathematical aptitude and well developed problem-solving skills.
