Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – DBA specializing in MS SQL Server to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database environments. The role involves leading a team of database administrators, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and implementing best practices for database management across critical systems.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DBAs, providing technical guidance and oversight.

  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in production and non-production environments.

  • Ensure database performance, availability, scalability, and security.

  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution.

  • Implement and support High Availability solutions such as Always on Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.

  • Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues.

  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for database design and deployment.

  • Handle database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.

  • Establish and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures.

  • Ensure compliance with security and data governance policies.

Skills:

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership or team lead role.

  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools and automation scripting (PowerShell, SQL scripts).

  • Understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or SQL Server certifications.

  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and database automation.

  • Exposure to monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, or third party tools.
