Job Summary
The Data Solutions Advisor plays a leading role in driving best practices supporting Comcast Global Audit (CGA) by identifying, monitoring, and mitigating risk through the integration of advanced data analytics, engineering, automation, and business analysis. This role plays a critical part contributing to audit engagements in shaping audit scope areas by generating innovative insights and scalable data solutions, as well as overseeing team execution.
As part of CGA team, the Data Solutions Advisor is responsible for:
• Analyzing complex business challenges to inform audit planning and execution
• Developing and maintaining standard and non-standard data products and reporting deliverables
• Designing and implementing scalable data solutions to support audit objectives
• Identifying and executing automation opportunities to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness
• Overseeing other team members in driving consistency across data deliverables
• Proactively identifying improvement areas that can lead to increased standardization and automation, strategically aligning with audit senior leaders on ways to improve and streamline audit testing.
This role offers broad exposure to the Comcast Corporation through the audit process and provides opportunities to influence risk management strategies through data-driven insights.
Job Description
What You Deliver
- Demonstrates solid project management skills for data or automation related projects, including developing project plans and budgets, scheduling deliverables across CGA teams, executing per plan, and messaging status/issues to management.
- Discusses audit engagement objectives with CGA team members and recommends data analytics approaches to support audit goals.
- Extracts, manipulates, transforms, models, visualizes, and analyzes accurate, relevant, timely, and cohesive data to support the audit lifecycle.
- Identifies audit scope areas that can be automated or repeated through data analytics and leads the project efforts to schedule and implement, aligning key stakeholders on the change impacts.
- Ensures all data is secure and follows company policies regarding data classification.
- Analyzes data to assess compliance with established policies/procedures, best practices, US GAAP, and legal/governmental requirements.
- Applies analytical models (e.g., regression, simulation, statistical) to audit scope areas to identify outliers, trends, and projections.
- Uses data concepts, tools, and programming techniques including SQL, dbt, Snowflake, Tableau, AWS, MS SQL Server, Oracle BI, Teradata, Databricks, Alteryx, Spark, Python, and R to perform ETL and data analysis activities.
- Develops process flows, prototypes, and requirements documentation to accelerate stakeholder understanding and guide solution development.
- Creates, documents, and executes support process steps and test procedures to ensure data deliverables are accurate and sustainable.
- Facilitates discussions that lead to decision-making throughout the lifecycle of creating and enhancing data solutions.
- Prepares clear and well-organized analysis workpapers, documenting root-cause (as applicable), work performed, findings, and recommendations.
- Creates graphical reports and executive presentations to effectively summarize analysis and findings.
- Manages the activities of Data or Automation team members and keeps the team on track to complete assignments.
- Accountable for and reviews team workpapers, presentations, and other documentation to ensure they are clear, complete, and well-organized.
- Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Assists with managing, scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining automated processes in production.
- Supports department objectives and performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

- Displays regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), as necessary. Out-of-town travel may be required at up to approximately 20%.

- Collaborates with members of CGA engagement teams to understand audit activities and identify ways that data analytics and/or automation can enhance overall work product, productivity, or audit coverage.

- Coaches audit team members on data analytics, automation techniques, and business knowledge.
- Assists engagement team in developing their understanding of relevant business risks and trains team on how to consider when planning and executing engagements.
