The Role

As our new Data Scientist, you will report directly to the Business Development Director and become part of a growing cross-functional team of 12 specialists. The team has a broad skill set spanning data science, analytics, process optimization, project delivery, and digital development, and works closely with both the IT department and the wider Intrum organization.

Location: Valby, Copenhagen
Work model: Hybrid (a flexible mix of office and home)

Purpose of the Role

You will play a central role in developing, improving, and operationalizing Intrum Denmark’s AI backbone, including our neural network-based Event Engine. Your work will influence automation, compliance, efficiency, decision-making, and the overall performance of the organization.

Your Responsibilities

You will help develop and maintain the Event Engine, Intrum’s core neural network powering ~90% of operational activities. More specifically, you will:

  • Develop and continuously optimize the Event Engine neural network

  • Implement model and system adjustments based on strategy, compliance, or capacity

  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure stability

  • Integrate AI components with internal systems—primarily our collections platform

  • Drive adoption of AI solutions across the operating model

  • Test, validate, and operationalize new AI use cases to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

What We Expect From You

  • Master’s degree in computer science, data science, economics, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in AI-centric or operational environments

  • Experience deploying and operating machine learning models or neural networks in production

  • Strong Python skills with clean and maintainable coding practices

  • Strong analytical mindset and experience handling complex datasets

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML principles, especially neural networks and optimization

  • Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into business processes and systems

  • Fluency in Danish and English, written and spoken.

Strong Advantages

  • Experience with JULIA as a programming language

  • Knowledge of Agentic AI and agent-based intelligent systems

  • Familiarity with our tech stack and MLOps tools:

    • MLflow (model lifecycle management)

    • Airflow (workflow orchestration)

    • Prometheus/Grafana (monitoring and observability)

    • GIT (version control)

  • Experience with Databricks and frameworks like PyTorch or Scikit-Learn is a plus.
