Role Overview:
As a Data Scientist in the Enterprise Customer Valuations Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex customer valuation models, including Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV)— to support value-based decision-making across TD. You will collaborate closely with business owners and partners to understand business objectives, identify data needs, and deliver actionable insights that drive strategic improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and maintain advanced customer valuation models (e.g., CLTV) using statistical, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data preparation using large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Design and execute analytics projects and initiatives, providing clear documentation and presentations of findings to business partners and executive audiences.
  • Apply deep expertise in analytics to challenge methodologies, improve model accuracy, and ensure robust, fact-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analytical solutions into business processes and support value-based decision frameworks.
  • Present insights and recommendations in a clear, compelling manner to drive strategic decisions and operational improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging analytics techniques, and big data technologies to continuously enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests and contribute to the ongoing development of analytics best practices within the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in a technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering).
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in analytics, data science, or business product management.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguous issues and deliver well-defined solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting insights to executive leaders and business partners.
  • Experience working with big data platforms and advanced analytics capabilities is an asset
