Deep knowledge of risks is a key factor, both in terms of running successful businesses and building a stable society. In your role as a Data Scientist you will utilize your technical and mathematical knowledge, analytical mindset and business skills, so that our customers can get the safety they need.
Your tasks include to create tools and systems for pricing insurances, as well as predicting the claim cost associated with the insurances sold. This is challenging from a mathematical point of view, but it also lets you grow within business understanding, systems development, and not least communication and cooperation in a Nordic product development team.
After following this path, you have a good background for finding your future career in If, where you can choose to continue to focus on data analytics, or to proceed with product ownership, digitalization of sales, or to coach and help new employees to get started with their own careers.
You will work together with skilled colleagues who help each other to succeed. These are characteristics of your prospective colleagues, and what we expect from you:
· A master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, or computer science. Some of the team members have also specialized in actuarial science.
· Experience with, e.g., volunteering, sales, teaching, sports.
· Being structured and like to get things done.
· Communication and cooperation skills.
· To be curious and analytical, and to be motivated by working hands on in various data environments like SQL, R or Python.
Fluent proficiency in the local language is required, as well as English. If you would like to learn more about the position, please contact me on +47 934 80 445 or fredrik.glockner@if.no. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
