Job Summary: Are you a graduating student or a recent grad? Join our Pathways Recent Graduate Program! This one-year program offers professional and technical training, mentoring and developmental opportunities. Location of position: GSA, Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Positions may be filled at any of the listed duty locations. We are currently filling 2 vacancies, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Major Duties:

BASIC REQUIREMENT for Data Scientist positions: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. The GS-09 salary range starts at $62,729 per year. Locality pay will be determined upon selection. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify at the GS-09 level: In addition to the Basic Requirements above, all candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes assisting with the gathering and processing of data for analysis; performing basic statistical analysis and modeling under guidance; contributing to data science projects; demonstrating awareness of ethical considerations in data handling; communicating technical information to various audiences; and utilizing technical knowledge to assist in solving problems. OR EDUCATION: Master's (or equivalent graduate degree) or have completed 2 years of progressively higher graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree. OR COMBINATION: Combination of graduate education and specialized experience that when combined fulfills the requirements.
