Job Description:
The Data Science Intern supports the Enterprise Strategic Analytics and the Data Science (ESADS) team by contributing to the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics used across the organization. This intern assists with real-world analytical problems, including exploratory data analysis, basic modeling, data preparation, and insight generation. The intern will partner closely with Strategic Analytics Partners (SAPs) and the Data Science team to deliver actionable analytical outputs. During the internship, the Data Science Intern will also own a scoped project from start to finish — including defining the problem, executing analysis or modeling work, and presenting final results to ESADS leadership and relevant business stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
Support the day-to-day work of the ESADS Data Science team, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, visualization, and assisting in predictive modeling tasks
Contribute to building insights, reports, or dashboards that help identify trends and support business decisions
Assist with basic feature engineering, data transformations, and quality checks to enable analytical and modeling work
Collaborate with Strategic Analytics Partners and the Data Science team to understand business needs and translate them into analytical tasks
Prepare presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders and cross-functional partners in a clear and structured manner
Own and manage a dedicated workstream within a summer-long project, executing the scope from start to finish and presenting outcomes to ESADS leadership and relevant business partners
Provide support with additional special projects, research, or analytical requests as needed
What We're Looking For:
Current enrollment in a college or university majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
Familiarity with Python and SQL preferred
Exposure to analytical or dashboarding tools (e.g., Databricks, Power BI, Tableau) preferred
Understanding of foundational statistical concepts and analytical problem-solving
Prior internship or project work in analytics or data science preferred but not required
