Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Protection Engineer to support the securing of sensitive organizational data through the implementation and management of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and eDiscovery processes.
This role will work closely with Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and IT teams to ensure data is properly classified, protected, and discoverable when required. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security, with hands-on exposure to DLP / Information Protection / eDiscovery tools
Key Responsibilities
Implement, manage, and maintain DLP & CASB solutions to monitor and protect sensitive data across endpoints, email, and cloud services.
Develop and tune DLP & CASB policies, rules, and alerts to reduce false positives while improving detection accuracy.
Act as level 2 escalation point on DLP alerts and potential data exfiltration events
Work with Legal, HR, and Compliance teams during internal investigations and regulatory requests, support eDiscovery processes, including legal holds, data collection, and export activities.
Assist with security incident investigations related to data exposure or misuse.
Participate in security awareness initiatives related to data protection and data handling practices.
Contribute to data protection strategies and security policies.
Document procedures, configurations, and investigation workflows.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
2–3 years of experience in information security or data protection roles
Hands on experience managing or supporting Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tool from a leading vendor
Familiarity with security incident investigation workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and IT teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar platforms
Experience with CASB solutions
Knowledge of identity and access management concepts
Familiarity with SIEM platforms
Security certifications such as Security+, SC-900, AZ-500, or similar
