DESCRIPTION:

The Product Data Specialist is dedicated to tasks related to accurately maintaining Fisher Scientific’s product data attributes in our ERP system and PDH (Product Data Hub) in a timely manner while complying with standard operating procedures and ensuring appropriate approvals are received.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads daily Lean meetings across Product Administration, Trade Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure 48-hour SLA adherence for item creation while identifying process gaps and driving continuous improvement solutions.
  • Executes daily item activation requests from Portfolio Management, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Service, ensuring accurate and timely entry of all ERP attributes (e.g., Canadian cost, product classification codes).
  • Owns new supplier and item master creation processes, managing varying volumes of item lists while coordinating cross-functionally to ensure prioritized and compliant ERP implementation.
  • Processes item lifecycle changes including discontinuations, reactivations, eliminations, and unit-of-measure updates to maintain supply chain continuity and system accuracy.
  • Completes Annual Supplier Pricing project by reviewing input data for accuracy and completeness, validating those+/- agreed upon variance; executing necessary steps to move data through the appropriate workflow approval process; ensuring the output data is loaded into the appropriate systems; executes on any required item maintenance changes as a result of annual price roll. Communication with Product Services, Portfolio Management, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Pricing Analyst and Contracts Manager is required throughout this process.          
  • Completes off-cycle price changes & communicate impact with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensures strict adherence to 25+ critical processes and work instructions while reinforcing cross-functional compliance to maintain regulatory, pricing, and master data integrity.
  • Drives ongoing data cleansing and harmonization initiatives to align Canadian and US item attributes, minimizing downstream system disruption and improving reporting accuracy.
  • Develops and delivers ad hoc reports using Cognos BI, Excel, and Access to support business decision-making, pricing validation, and operational analysis.   

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/College Degree in business/science or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with data analysis and large datasets.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access, including data analysis, reporting, and database management functions.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw actionable conclusions from analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, determine root cause and downstream impact, and develop practical, sustainable solutions.

Compensation

The salary range estimated for this position based in Ontario is $41,900.00–$62,900.00.
