We are looking for a hands-on Technical Data Product Owner to lead and optimize our real-time consumer activation and data tagging ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and marketing technology, with direct ownership of data quality, ingestion performance, and end-to-end data reliability.
Unlike a traditional Product Owner, this role requires strong technical depth, active involvement in solution design, and close collaboration with data engineers and analytics specialists to ensure high-performing, scalable data products.
Own the roadmap and backlog for: Real-time consumer activation pipelines Data ingestion (batch & streaming) Tagging & tracking ecosystem (Tealium, Adobe, GA)
Translate business use cases into technical data requirements and architectures
Act as the single point of accountability for data product performance and reliability
Define and enforce data quality standards, SLAs, and monitoring frameworks
Identify and resolve: Data gaps Tracking inconsistencies Schema mismatches
Implement proactive data validation and observability
Partner with engineers to introduce automated quality checks and alerts
Own performance of data pipelines supporting: Real-time activation use cases Marketing and analytics platforms
Analyze and optimize: Latency Throughput Data freshness
Drive improvements in: Event streaming pipelines API-based ingestion Batch processing workflows
Act as a technical counterpart to Data Engineers
Contribute to: Solution design discussions Data model definitions Event schema design
Review: Tracking specifications Data contracts Pipeline logic (at a conceptual and practical level)
Be comfortable querying data, debugging issues, and validating outputs
Work closely with: Data Engineers (pipeline & ingestion) Analytics specialists (Adobe / GA) Tagging teams (Tealium) External partners (e.g., EPAM)
Align activation use cases with tracking and data availability
Bridge gaps between: Business requirements Tagging implementation Data platform capabilities
Ensure data readiness for: Personalization Audience activation Marketing automation
Prioritize use cases based on: Data feasibility Performance impact Business value
Remove bottlenecks in data-to-activation flow
Strong understanding of: Data pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming) Event-driven architectures APIs and data integration patterns
Hands-on experience with: SQL (required) Debugging data issues across systems
Familiarity with: Tagging tools (Tealium or similar) Analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) Cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Data Product Owner
Ability to manage a technical backlog with engineering teams
Strong stakeholder management across business and technical teams
Experience defining: Data quality frameworks Monitoring & alerting Data contracts / schemas
Strong problem-solving mindset
Comfortable operating in complex, cross-functional environments
Able to challenge teams and push for technical excellence (not just delivery)
Experience with real-time data / CDP / personalization platforms
Knowledge of customer data ecosystems in retail/e-commerce
