Data Product Manager

UK, Theale (Reading) Full Time

Why Choose Bottomline?

Are you ready to transform the way businesses pay and get paid? Bottomline is a global leader in business payments and cash management, with over 35 years of experience and moving more than $16 trillion in payments annually. We're looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help drive impactful results for our customers. If you're dedicated to delighting customers and promoting growth and innovation - we want you on our team!

The Role

We're seeking a Data Product Manager to drive the strategy, development, and adoption of our data and AI products across corporate and product domains. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and data capabilities, translating organizational needs into actionable data solutions and AI-powered insights that deliver measurable value.  You'll own the roadmap and lifecycle of our data products, working in partnership with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and opportunities. Where appropriate, you'll identify where AI and machine learning can enhance decision-making, automate processes, or unlock new capabilities. You'll define what success looks like for each data product, prioritize features based on business impact, and ensure our data Lakehouse infrastructure (built on AWS and Snowflake) delivers insights that drive decisions.

You'll explore and evaluate AI use cases, from generative AI applications to predictive analytics, assessing where these technologies can create genuine business value versus where traditional approaches are more appropriate. You'll champion data literacy and AI adoption across the organization, making complex data and intelligent systems accessible and actionable for non-technical teams.

Your focus will be on the "what" and "why" rather than the "how", understanding business problems deeply, identifying opportunities where data and AI can create value, and ensuring our products evolve with changing business needs and emerging AI capabilities. You'll manage stakeholder expectations, communicate trade-offs clearly, and measure the business outcomes of your data and AI products.

How you’ll contribute

  • Partner with business leaders to identify data and AI product opportunities that solve real business problems and drive revenue, efficiency, and strategic insights
  • Evaluate AI use cases and build business cases for AI investments, balancing innovation with practical business value
  • Define and maintain the data and AI product roadmap, balancing short-term wins with long-term strategic goals
  • Translate business requirements into clear product specifications and success metrics for technical teams
  • Drive adoption of data and AI products through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Monitor product usage and business impact, iterating based on feedback and metrics
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, optimization and end-of-life
  • Communicate ROI and business outcomes to leadership
  • Ensure data governance, AI ethics, and compliance standards align with business needs and regulatory requirements

If you have the attributes, skills, and experience listed below, we want to hear from you

  • 4+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or data strategy roles
  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand and articulate how data and AI drive business outcomes
  • Curiosity about AI capabilities and practical understanding of where AI adds value versus hype
  • Proven track record of stakeholder management and influencing
  • Experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps based on business priorities
  • Comfortable working with data and AI concepts (though deep technical expertise isn't required)
  • Excellent communication skills, you can explain complex data and AI concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strategic thinker who can balance immediate business needs with long-term vision and emerging technologies
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with technical and business stakeholders
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (data lakehouses, cloud infrastructure, Snowflake)
  • Experience with AI/ML product development or implementation
  • Background in analytics, business intelligence, or data domains
  • Understanding of AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and related compliance frameworks
  • Experience with product analytics and measuring product success
