The role is offered as hybrid with approximately 1 day per week onsite in our Sandyford, Dublin office.

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to help build and support ResMed’s growing data ecosystem. This is an individual contributor role for an engineer who enjoys working hands-on with data pipelines, analytics models, and cloud-based data platforms. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, analytics teams, and product partners to deliver reliable, scalable data platform capabilities that power insights, reporting, and advanced analytics.

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the development and operation of ResMed’s data platform. You will:
Build, maintain, and enhance data platform components and pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery using Python, SQL, and cloud-based tools.
Develop and support analytics and data models in Snowflake using dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
Work within established data platform architectures and engineering patterns while learning best practices for scalable and maintainable systems.
Implement basic testing, monitoring, and alerting to help ensure data quality, reliability, and operational health of the platform.
Collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, and product teams to understand data requirements and deliver trusted, well-modeled datasets.
Support platform foundations for analytics, reporting, and early-stage ML/AI use cases.
Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of data platform engineering processes.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience as a data engineer, data platform engineer, analytics engineer, or software engineer working with data systems (typically 3–6 years).
Working proficiency in SQL and experience building or maintaining data models in a modern analytics platform (Snowflake preferred).
Experience developing data pipelines using Python and cloud-based services.
Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
Hands-on experience building and operating data systems on AWS, with working knowledge of cloud-native architectures and experience using services such as S3, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, Glue, EMR, or similar AWS data and compute services.
Experience using Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
Understanding of core software engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, and debugging.
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or similar.
Exposure to streaming or event-driven data systems (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
Exposure to ML/AI workflows or supporting data for machine learning use cases.
Experience working in regulated environments or on large-scale enterprise data platforms.
