Job Summary: Make an impact while you learn. The Semester of Service Program gives students a volunteer, project-based opportunity to support real Federal missions, gaining hands-on experience and career-ready skills. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited institution with permission to participate. In this project, you'll support a data based project.

Major Duties:

  • The government-wide "Semester of Service" Student Volunteer Program, as authorized under 5 U.S.C §31114 and 5 CFR Part 308, enables Federal agencies to engage students in unpaid, project-based assignments of limited duration. These assignments are designed to align with each agency's strategic priorities, offering participants practical experience within Federal operations while supporting the advancement of targeted initiatives. The main goal of this project is to support the Building Operation Center's engineering team by maximizing the capabilities of ServiceNow. The student will be responsible for mining data within ServiceNow to help increase workflow efficiency. The student's work will enable our engineering office staff to analyze, visualize, and optimize business processes using the platform's existing audit logs. This should will have a tangible impact on how our team leverages ServiceNow to improve daily operations. In order to be eligible for this opportunity you must be able to obtain academic credit from your institution OR a third-party stipend of at least $15.00 per hour or higher if the locality you are selected for has a higher minimum wage than $15.00.

Qualifications: Applicants will be considered based on their knowledge, skills or abilities related to project needs. Specifically, applicants should demonstrate: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is preferred. Ability to manage multiple assignments, projects and/or initiatives. Make recommendations on data findings and solutions for program improvement. Ability to analyze data and information. Ability to communicate with others and make presentations. Ability to organize a variety of assignments simultaneously to meet deadlines Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
