The Enterprise Data Management Strategy & Governance Policy & Program Office creates and maintains Data Governance (DG) policies, standards, processes and roles for the enterprise and establishes the oversight and accountability to drive their adoption and compliance. It ensures that our company’s data has a high degree of reliability and integrity. The Enterprise Data Governance Policy & Program Office’s mission is to maximize data value for business stakeholders, reduce company risk, and to create consistent and trusted data throughout its lifecycle.
The Advisor role requires competence across a broad spectrum of governance initiatives, however there is a focus on the design and roll out of enterprise level requirements for policy controls and data governance maturity. They will work with Lines of Business (LOBs) including who manage both processes and data management, to assess their evidence of policy controls and document that, and the maturity of data governance across the enterprise.
In this role the incumbent will partner with business and technical leaders and subject matter experts to drive practices that support the standardization of operational information and the execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and standards.
Responsibilities
Leverage expertise in business and technical knowledge, as well as influencing skills to support the development, roll-out and management of EDG Policy Controls; including their processes and tooling in order to standardize the approach and document the assessment and evidence of critical EDG controls
Support the development, tooling, roll-out and management of an enterprise-wide Data governance Maturity assessment; develop communications and supportive documentation
Identify gaps and alignment between Controls, EDG Policy(ies) and industry leading Maturity models and their respective results
Collaborate with critical stakeholders to design and develop a methodology to identify, quantify and escalate potential data risk issues in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management practices
Apply critical thinking to assess and optimize the use of data governance tooling innovations to best advance the objectives of the Enterprise Data Strategy and Management organization
Lead and develop effective plans for communication and engagement with prioritized organizations, act as a go-to person and provide consultative services to ensure business and data process owners can capitalize on, or align with data governance best practices
Contribute to create a big-picture approach to ensure effective communication and escalation of key opportunities which support the dual needs of both business and governance leadership to improve data governance and data quality
Qualifications
Experience with data governance, controls, metadata, data quality, and/or reporting processes and tools
Knowledge of Cigna/Evernorth lines of business or products; and/or hands on experience with data management (medical, provider, claims, clinical, pharmacy, eligibility etc.)
Demonstrated communications and/or change management experience
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare business environment
Minimum of 3 year’s experience in Data Governance
Ability to convey complex data concepts via visual techniques to succinctly communicate
Self-motivated to do what it takes to achieve success and navigate in a highly-matrixed environment
Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines
In-depth knowledge and experience with healthcare terminology, concepts and business processes
Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations
Experience working in Agile project management (SAFe experience a plus)
Ability to demonstrate and honor principles of Service, Innovation, Diversity, Empowerment, Integrity, Self-motivation, and Passion
Some travel required
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
