Job Details

Viridien is seeking a Data Manager to join the EDA Data Management team, supporting the management of seismic data assets across the Eastern Hemisphere. This role ensures field, processed, and final product datasets are archived, documented, and delivered to internal and external clients on time and to specification.

Working within a collaborative team, you will play an important role in maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and governance of large geophysical datasets throughout their lifecycle.

About The Team

You will join the EDA Data Management team, responsible for managing seismic data assets and ensuring reliable storage, accessibility, and delivery across the Eastern Hemisphere.

The team works closely with processing, infrastructure, and HPC teams to support data archiving, governance, and client deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

- Data & Project Management

  • Manage the lifecycle of seismic datasets including field, processed, and final products.

  • Coordinate with SI and HPC teams on data restores, backups, storage, and deliveries.

  • Perform quality checks on processing and job flows to ensure data integrity.

  • Organize and document legacy ex-Geospec datasets.

- Archiving & Data Governance

  • Archive internal datasets and final SEGY products to HSM and off-site storage.

  • Archive field data including SEGD, navigation, and associated documentation.

  • Maintain metadata and documentation for archived assets.

  • Maintain the GeoTrove data management database.

- Order & Media Management

  • Manage client orders and run G2 jobs to generate SEGY files for delivery.

  • Track and manage physical and off-site media stored in Oasis and DeepStore.

  • Coordinate media shipments, retrievals, and client deliveries.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in data management, archiving, or operational roles involving large datasets.

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command line for file management and QC tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and structured documentation practices.

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and manage parallel requests.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with seismic or geophysical data such as SEGY, SEGD, or navigation data.

  • Experience with ArcGIS or other geospatial tools.

  • Familiarity with G2 tools (QED Job Manager, Disk Manager, Job Flow) or similar systems.
