Position Summary:

We are looking for a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Specialist with expertise in supporting large-scale deployments of Endpoint DLP, Email DLP, CASB, and insider threat security solutions.

A DLP Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies and systems to prevent the unauthorized access, use, or transmission of sensitive organizational data. This role works closely with the security team, legal, compliance, and business units to ensure that data protection policies and procedures are effectively enforced and aligned with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include working with operations teams, ensuring compliance, participating in audits and assessments, developing strategic recommendations, researching innovative technologies, and collaborating with vendors to strengthen organizational security.

Position Description:

  • Design, deploy, and manage DLP solutions across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments to detect and prevent potential data breaches.
  • Monitor and analyze DLP events, conducting research to determine the root cause and scope of exposure.
  • Develop and update DLP policies, rules, and procedures based on evolving business requirements, threat landscapes, and compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with Security, Legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to data protection laws and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on best practices for data handling and the importance of data loss prevention.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for management that summarize DLP activities, incident trends, and mitigation outcomes.
  • Stay informed about new threats, technologies, and regulatory changes impacting data security and loss prevention.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a directly related field; Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Six to eight years of professional IT experience. 
  • Experience in security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols. 
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative and communication skills, and strong judgement. 
  • Note:  May supervise project staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are preferred.
  • Proven experience with data loss prevention platforms (e.g., Proofpoint, Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Zscaler).
  • Strong understanding of data classification.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration and user education.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$114,480 - $170,070 USD
