The Data & Analytics team at The New York Post is at the heart of everything we do – from content creation to audience engagement, and marketing strategy. Our team works with complex datasets to uncover key insights that drive decisions across editorial, business development, and digital strategy. We leverage cutting-edge technology, machine learning, and business intelligence tools to optimize our content and maximize our reach. We’re seeking a full-time Data Intern (40 hrs/week) to join us this summer! In this role, you’ll work closely with our team of data scientists, machine learning experts, and business stakeholders. This internship will immerse you in the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data extraction to analysis, and visualization, to building machine learning models. Your work will have a direct impact on how we tailor our content to meet the needs of our audience, improve engagement, and shape our marketing strategies.

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Participants are expected to work full time hours and adhere to our on-site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March 15th.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with data science, machine learning, and technology teams to design and develop machine learning models

  • Support the creation, maintenance, and delivery of data-driven products

  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into functional requirements

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and visualization to identify trends, correlations, and insights

  • Refine statistical approaches for targeting, attribution, and engagement strategies

  • Be involved in every aspect of the data lifecycle, from data ingestion, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) to analysis, visualization, and machine learning modeling

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing or recently attained a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Physics, or any field with a strong foundation in statistics and coding

  • Proficiency in data analysis, coding (e.g., Python, R), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large datasets accurately

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for using data to drive decision-making

  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive data
