Description

The Data Governance Specialist plays a critical execution-focused role in supporting data governance and stewardship activities. This position is responsible for carrying out defined governance tasks, supporting data stewards, and ensuring data definitions, metadata, and quality metrics are accurately documented and maintained.

This role is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on data work, and thrives in structured environments where clear standards and collaboration are essential to improving data integrity and usability.

 

Execute Governance & Stewardship Tasks

  • Maintain data glossaries, business definitions, metadata attributes, and related governance metrics.

  • Execute assigned governance activities in alignment with established standards and processes.

 

Partner with Data Stewards

  • Coordinate with data stewards to support definition reviews and documentation updates.

  • Assist stewards by preparing materials, capturing updates, and ensuring changes are accurately recorded.

 

Support Data Integrity & Issue Resolution

  • Document data requirements, analyze datasets, and assist with data integrity and quality checks.

  • Investigate data-related issues and collaborate with stewards and technical teams to support remediation efforts.

 

Governance Meeting & Process Support

  • Support governance and stewardship meetings by documenting discussions, decisions, action items, and next steps.

  • Track follow-ups and assist with progressing governance work through defined workflows.

  • Assist with data literacy materials and support awareness of governance standards and processes.

 

Metadata & Tool Collaboration

  • Assist with data literacy materials and support awareness of governance standards and processes.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, metadata management, or related disciplines.

  • Ability to analyze data, document findings, and support issue investigation activities.

  • Strong analytical stills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to an agile environment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English-French

 

Preferred Qualidications

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across technical and business teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create and follow structured processes and standards.
