Job Description Summary

The Data Governance Lead plays a key role in leading and implementing the data governance program of Cushman and Wakefield Services. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective data governance framework, ensuring data quality, integrity, compliance, and overseeing data stewardship and metadata management activities. With strong leadership and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of data management principles, the Data Governance Lead collaborates with stakeholders to align data governance practices with business objectives and pave the way for a data-driven culture within the organization.

Job Description

  • Establish a data governance implementation roadmap for Cushman and Wakefield Services.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Data Governance framework, policies, and procedures based on the business requirements.
  • Work closely with data owners and stakeholders to support implementation of data governance.
  • Develop and maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, playbooks, and data catalogs.
  • Lead metadata management activities to ensure data dictionaries and glossaries are up-to-date, data assets are fully curated and accessible in a data catalog.
  • Collaborate with business units to capture and define metadata attributes, such as data lineage, definitions, and business rules.
  • Coordinate with business units and technology teams to ensure alignment and adherence to data governance principles.
  • Develop and implement data quality strategies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data assets.
  • Develop tools or automated solutions where needed to support data cleanse activities.
  • Identify and assess data-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee data stewardship activities, including data issue resolution, data lineage, and data ownership assignments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data governance initiatives and ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to data governance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data governance processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to articulate the value and benefits of data governance to stakeholders.
  • Provide on-going leadership, coaching, mentoring and other development opportunities for the team members.
