Experienced Data Governance and Protection Expert

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Data Governance and Protection expert with a can-do mentality and deep EU AI Act knowledge. Can you translate legislation, like the EU AI Act or BCBS239 into customer-friendly journeys? Are you able to translate requirements into hands-on work guidance for our Business Tribes? Tribe Data Management NL
You become part of the Safe Data area within Tribe Data Management. This Tribe consists of three product areas, a platform team and the Safe Data area that holds both Data Privacy and CDO experts. ​As Data Management we have the ambition to create excellent, easy to find and use digital products. We want to make sure that within ING NL all data processing is compliant and safe, and is executed in an automated and scalable way, while all employees understand their role in their use of data. Within the Tribe you work closely with the CDO (Chief Data Officer), PALs (Product Area Leads), PLs (Product Leads), and other Governance and Protection team members.  You will regularly collaborate with colleagues from 1st and 2nd line departments (legal, NFR and Compliance) in NL and Global organizations. Above all, you team up with ODCR, SBOs and colleagues in Business Tribes.

Roles, responsibilities

Currently, Safe Data area is accountable for the implementation of various standards. Examples are Data Management Control Standard, Global Personal Data Protection Control Standard and End User Computing Control. Our current challenge is, and your focus, to implement the processes and controls to make sure ING complies with the EU AI act.  To ensure that AI is used in ING NL in a safe, transparent, and responsible way that protects people’s rights while enabling innovation. Do you immediately think of bringing your AI Act knowledge combined with lean six sigma skills into practice? Are you keen to develop lean processes, solve governance issues, realize automated workflows and implement scanning tools to spot if anything is missed?   • A master’s degree
  • Proven Lean Six Sigma skills (e.g. black belt certified)
  • Regulatory expertise
  • Technical understanding
  • Proven knowledge about EU AI Act (e.g. IAPP's AI Governance Professional certification or CAICO)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders across departments and all organizational levels
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proficient in English and Dutch (verbal and writing)
  • Enthusiastic, true team player and willing to help others to be successful
  • Focus on making impact and a drive to get things done
  • Pre: familiar with the ING organization and /or affinity with the financial services sector
