About the Role
The Data Governance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization’s Data and AI Governance and Management Program to ensure enterprise data is accurate, secure, and effectively managed throughout its lifecycle. This position works collaboratively with data owners, stewards, and technical teams to implement governance policies, maintain metadata and data catalogs, and support compliance with privacy and information security requirements. The role provides essential expertise and operational capacity as the organization continues to expand its data lake environment and integrate diverse data types, including unstructured data sources and supporting the enablement of Governed AI.
What You’ll Be Doing
Data Governance Operations
Support the ongoing operation of the Data Governance Program in alignment with enterprise frameworks and standards.
Maintain governance documentation, including policies, procedures, and data stewardship guidelines.
Assist in the prioritization and tracking of governance initiatives, issues, and metrics.
Metadata and Catalog Management
Maintain and enhance metadata repositories, business glossaries, and data catalogs to improve data discovery and understanding.
Partner with technical teams to ensure data lineage, classification, and tagging are accurate and up to date.
Support integration of metadata tools with other data management platforms.
Data Quality and Compliance
Develop and monitor data quality metrics, identify data quality issues, and support remediation with business and technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, and Privacy teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal data management standards.
Assist in audits, risk assessments, and governance reviews as required.
Stakeholder Engagement and Stewardship
Partner with data owners, stewards, and custodians across business units to define data standards and accountability.
Support training and communication efforts to build awareness of data governance principles and responsibilities.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings and working groups to address governance priorities.
Process Improvement and Enablement
Identify opportunities to automate or streamline governance processes and data quality monitoring.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance practices, tools, and reporting.
Support maturity assessments and roadmap planning for future governance enhancements.

Technical qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering
Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Data Analyst
Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, Excel, and/or Power BI/Tableau
Experience with a Data Governance Platform such Atacama, Collibra, Informatica, Purview etc. or would be an asset
Familiarity with Audit, Risk, or Compliance would be an asset
Let’s Talk Pay
We believe in being upfront about pay and helping you make informed decisions about your career. The annual pay range for this role is $72,000 - $88,000 CAD, inclusive of base salary and target incentive pay. We understand that great talent comes in many forms, each with unique skills, experience, and potential. Your salary will be tailored to reflect the experience you bring and the impact you’re ready to have on this role.
