Data Governance Analyst

The Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in advancing the enterprise data governance program by helping ensure data is accurate, trusted, protected, and used responsibly across the organization. This role partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to operationalize governance standards, strengthen data quality, and enable confident, compliant data use at scale.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, technology, and risk, and wants to grow their career in enterprise data governance within a regulated, data‑driven environment.

Profile Description:

  • Support the implementation and ongoing execution of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and operating procedures
  • Partner with data owners and data stewards to define, document, and maintain business definitions, metadata, and critical data elements
  • Monitor data quality, support issue identification and remediation tracking, and contribute to continuous data quality improvement
  • Participate in data classification and access governance processes, including identification and governance of sensitive data such as PII and PHI
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Data Engineering, Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, and Analytics teams to promote governed data practices
  • Maintain data governance documentation, dashboards, metrics, and management reporting for leadership and governance forums
  • Support audit, regulatory, and risk‑related data governance activities, including evidence collection and response coordination
  • Assist with adoption of data governance and data quality tools through documentation, training materials, and end‑user support
  • Identify process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and contribute to governance maturity and operational excellence initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as needed in support of the enterprise data governance program

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of core data governance concepts including data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata, and data lifecycle management
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms such as data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics environments
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, metadata, and master data management tools and platforms, including technologies such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, Reltio, Profisee, Monte Carlo, Soda, Power BI, and Azure DevOps
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with a high attention to detail
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams


Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting data governance in regulated industries such as financial services or healthcare
  • Exposure to audit, regulatory, or risk management processes
  • Experience contributing to data governance tool implementations or maturity programs
  • A proactive mindset with a strong interest in process improvement and data enablement

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$80,000 - $120,500
