Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a proficient ETL Developer with data processes and integration experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.  Participates in the development and documentation of applications to extract, transform, and load data.  Develops queries and ETL that is consistent and integrated with existing ETL processes.  Creates and implements automated processes to control data access, transformation, and movement. Ensures source system data availability and update accessibility, data integrity, restart ability, and error handling.  Develops processes using ETL tools to implement logical and physical dataflow models according to functional requirements and mapping designs.  Codes, tests, and implements ETL mappings and scripts to build and maintain automated ETL processes.  Supports, and at times, leads clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems related to system functions and procedures.  Senior level positions oversee basic and advanced transformation activities such as normalization, cleansing, aggregation, summarization, and integration; identifies and manages interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations.

 Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience 
  • At least 4 years of experience with design, development, automation, and support of applications to extract, transform, and load data 
  • At least 5 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment  

Experience Should Include

  • Experience operating and maintaining an existing Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse data warehouse  using a variety of data integration technologies.
  • Ability to provide solutions that are forward-thinking in data and analytics.
  • Experience building complex data pipelines using PySpark, ADF, SSIS / Informatica / Python / Stored Procedures.
  • Experience migrating on-premises SQL Server data stores to Microsoft Azure Synapse
  • Experience with Azure Data Platform stack to handle big data transformation and processing (Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, Serverless, Synapse SQL and Spark Pools)
  • - Experience migrating ETL components from Microsoft SSIS, Informatica to Azure Data Factory, PySpark etc.,
  • Experience building solutions using elastic architectures (preferably Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience with a variety of SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark, Serverless and Big Data Platforms.
  • Experience with AAS/SSAS Tabular models both on-prem and in Azure, Power BI, Dataflows and DAX.
  • Experience with Orchestration tools like Autosys, Airflow etc.,
  • Experience with  containerization using Kubernetes, Dockers etc.,
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively to change.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Agile and/or Scrum methods of delivery.
  • Progressive experience working with Azure Gen2 Data Lake and the different file types that are most common for structured data (e.g., Avro, Parquet, etc.).
  • MS Certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Fundamentals is preferred.

  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles
  • Thorough understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose
  • Understanding of the team's domain, how work in this domain relates to the team's objectives and deliverables and how it contributes to overall business strategy and how technical strategy maps to this
  • Ability to collaborate on all aspects of product development
  • Technically proficient and able to define and fulfill solution requirements for end user
  • Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers
  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
