A Data Engineering Manager, manages the provision of support and/or consultancy services for Data Migration, Data Engineering and BI requirements. Leading a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers across all levels. Holding relevant areas of expertise to provide advice and guidance and support to their teams. Managing the demand and resourcing across their team. Engages with clients and maintains client relationships. Establishes agreements/contracts and manages completion and disengagement. Support of teams providing 24/7/365 using ITIL Service Management practices to underpin delivery.

Job Description:

Management of the Data Engineering team’s workload by the use of detailed resource plans and allocation to team members of change requests, problem reports, requests for assistance, impact assessments.
Sets strategies for effective use of data technologies and tooling taking account of the complex interrelations between data platforms and project requirements
Participate in project or tender responses such as solution design and costing from qualification through to full costing including due diligence exercises
Help establish agreements/contracts and manages completion and disengagement when necessary.
Provides specialist expertise in the development, use or operation of data pipelines, ETL processes, Data and BI platforms.
Provides expert knowledge in the selection, provision and use of database and BI architectures, software and facilities, typically taking responsibility for a team of technical staff.
Has sufficient technical overview knowledge and practical experience to give leadership to multi-specialist consultancy projects.
Plans, organises support or consultancy assignments
Managing demand and resourcing across their designated teams.
Recognise opportunities and take action that will have a measurable effect on operational effectiveness.
