Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the team, developing proof-of-concepts (POCs) and rapid prototypes using industry-standard software libraries, with responsibility for scaling solutions to the platform.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications, adhering to Agile development practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and departmental procedures to support operational excellence.
- Make independent decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues, exercising substantial latitude in setting objectives and determining approaches to assignments.
- Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering relevant information, engaging support teams for issue resolution, formulating action plans, executing designated actions, interpreting outcomes, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence, including completion of online documentation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by staying informed about technology trends, experimenting with emerging tools, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other engineering team members.

- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience, including hands-on work with Azure Data Lakes, event streaming, data governance, and DevOps practices.
- At least 3 years designing software applications, applying industry best practices and a design-first approach.
- 5 + years of experience with Python, Azure Databricks, Pyshark, and Snowflake.
- Proven experience with event-based streaming using Kafka, handling data formats such as JSON and Avro.
- Strong expertise in metadata management, data lineage, governance, discovery, and data quality.
- Experience with relational database technologies, including Oracle and SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub and/or GitLab, SonarQube, NUnit, and designing unit test cases using TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code quality tools.
- Proficient in analyzing existing applications and implementing modifications for new features while maintaining legacy functionalities.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the healthcare setting.
- Experience with developing highly scalable and always available applications on large-scale distributed databases.
- Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, tools and MLOps.
- Exposure to AI.
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and developing cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$97,900 - $133,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
