The Opportunity:
As a Data Consultant for the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in Spokane, WA, you will be responsible for investigative work and data analysis supporting multiple research projects. You will apply scientific knowledge to coordinate research projects on population diet and health studies. These studies include the analysis of nutritional quality and cost of foods in the American food supply, the role of specific food crops in US diets, the impact of policies on perinatal health and child nutrition, and other analyses involving nationally-representative datasets.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing data and interpreting results, generating reports, and preparing data and manuscripts for publication. Additionally, you will prepare scientific presentations with opportunities for delivering them at conferences, and participate in strategies for data management. Other duties may include, but are not limited to preparing progress reports/proposals, acting as a liaison between the project team, research partners and funding agencies, monitoring assigned ongoing study(ies) and project(s) and working with the PI to address issues in a timely manner.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), project position. This position is overtime eligible.
Project End Date: This is a project position expected to end on August 31, 2027. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $4,119 to $5,531 | Range 46 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree including college level course work in statistics and/or mathematics AND one (1) year of experience working as a Data Consultant 1 or equivalent OR equivalent education/experience.
Proficiency with R statistical software or Stata, SAS or similar software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and associated MS Office software
Experience with managing and analyzing quantitative data using multivariable methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in an appropriate field of Nutrition, Public Health, Biology, Anthropology or related field.
Experience conducting data analysis using nationally representative datasets.
