This role involves working closely with Sales, Design and Construction, and Operations teams to provide technical expertise and solution design support throughout the sales process, from initial discovery through contract execution and customer onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify, qualify, and support potential customers across both hyperscale and enterprise segments, ensuring responsive and professional internal partnership.

  • Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer business objectives, workload requirements, growth plans, design requirements and operational constraints.

  • Design and propose customized data center solutions, including:

    • Retail colocation and enterprise deployments

    • Wholesale and build-to-suit hyperscale solutions

    • Power, cooling, space, security, and resiliency architectures

  • Deliver technical presentations and host technical due-dilligence virtual meetings with prospective clients with a focus on transparency and clarity, tailoring messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise throughout the sales cycle, maintaining a high degree of professionalism and responsiveness with all internal (Sales, Design and Construction, Operations, Security, Networking and Instrumentation teams) as well as clients and external stakeholders.

  • Support complex, long-cycle hyperscale opportunities involving large power requirements, phased deployments, and standardized design models.

  • Support shorter-cycle enterprise and retail sales motions requiring flexible designs, compliance considerations, and workload-specific solutions.

  • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, technical appendices, and quotations, including power density, redundancy models, and service descriptions.

  • Assist in the preparation of RFP/RFI responses for both hyperscale and enterprise customers, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and competitive differentiation.

  • Participate in customer meetings, site tours, workshops, and technical deep dives as a trusted advisor.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive offerings, and evolving data center technologies, including sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Support the transition from sales to delivery by assisting with solution handoff to operations, design and construction, and implementation teams.

  • Contribute to achieving and exceeding sales targets and objectives by enabling technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in data center sales engineering, technical sales, or infrastructure design roles.

  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including:

    • Mechanical and electrical systems (UPS, generators, power distribution)

    • Cooling architectures (air and liquid cooling concepts)

    • Physical security and access controls

    • Operations, monitoring, and instrumentation

  • Experience supporting hyperscale customers with large-scale, repeatable, and standardized infrastructure requirements.

  • Experience supporting enterprise and retail customers with diverse workloads, compliance needs, and varying power and density profiles.

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including business and executive stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating transparency, responsiveness, and professionalism in all internal and external interactions.

  • Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external customers through transparent and responsive engagement.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in both long-cycle and fast-paced sales environments.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
