Job Description

Position Summary:

The GBS Digital Enablement Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for translating global analytics strategy into execution and delivery through the Costa Rica-based team within GBS Shared Services. This role combines people leadership with strong technical expertise, leading a team of BI and data professionals while acting as a trusted partner to business stakeholders, translating needs into scalable analytics solutions.

The incumbent will be accountable for building scalable analytics solutions, establishing data standards, and enabling data-driven decision-making across global workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of BI developers and analysts, including hiring, performance management, and career development.

  • Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture within the team and in collaboration with global stakeholders.

  • Act as a mentor and escalation point for both technical and delivery challenges.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide hands-on guidance and oversight on data architecture, BI development, and best practices.

  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of analytics solutions.

  • Establish and enforce development standards, governance, and documentation practices.

Execution & Delivery Ownership

  • Accountable for end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions, including quality, timelines, and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Shift the function from reactive reporting to proactive insights and value creation.

  • Lead prioritization frameworks balancing business impact, effort, and strategic alignment.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI), including 3–5 years in shared services or consulting environments. Experience as a BI Developer is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications, in Computer Science, Information Science, or related work experience.

  • Fluent in English written and spoken.

  • Proven experience leading and developing technical teams (BI/data engineering), including performance management, coaching, and organizational design.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL is required, along with knowledge of ETL concepts and experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, and Databricks or similar tools is a plus.

  • Ability to review and challenge technical designs, code, and data models to ensure best-in-class solutions.

  • Understanding cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
