We're investing heavily in our data capabilities, and this role sits at the centre of how data powers our operations.We're looking for a Data Analytics Manager to build and scale our centralized analytics function. This is a senior player-coach role: you'll stay hands-on with deep analytical work while leading and developing a high-performing team of analysts. You'll shape the operating model, not just execute someone else's playbook. As Data Analytics Manager, you'll own the quality, consistency, and strategic impact of all analytical work produced by the Data Analyst team. You'll establish value-stream-aligned engagement patterns, drive Looker adoption and self-service maturity, and build analytical excellence through rigorous methodology, experimentation frameworks, and mentorship. You'll work on a modern cloud stack (BigQuery, dbt, Looker) with strong support from Analytics Engineering, who own the data platform and semantic layer. This role reports directly into senior leadership, with real visibility into how your work shapes company strategy. Our ideal candidate has deep analytical expertise, a track record of building teams, and the energy to create structure where little exists. This role is for someone who wants to build an analytics function that drives real business outcomes.
What You'll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, establishing clear career pathways, skill development priorities, and performance expectations.
- Establish and drive a value-stream-aligned operating model, ensuring analysts are embedded with business teams and delivering consistent, high-quality insights.
- Own analytical methodology and standards: how analysts approach problems, structure analyses, document work, and communicate insights.
- Drive Looker adoption and self-service analytics across the organisation, including governance frameworks, training cadences, and enablement materials.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders across operations, finance, marketing, product, and customer success to translate strategic questions into data-driven Recommendations.
- Build and maintain analytical frameworks, templates, and repeatable patterns for KPI design, insight narratives, and measurement reporting.
- Define and govern experimentation frameworks, covering A/B testing, causal inference approaches, and impact evaluation.
- Dig into complex, large-scale datasets using SQL, BigQuery, Looker, and Python to surface patterns, trends, and strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and Data Platform Engineering on semantic layer design, data quality, and pipeline improvements.
- Manage analyst capacity allocation and prioritisation across value streams within agreed engagement frameworks.
What You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics, including 2+ years in a team leadership or management role
- Strong hands-on technical skills in SQL, Python or R, and modern BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or Power BI)
- Proven experience building and scaling analytics teams and establishing analytical methodologies and standards
- Deep understanding of statistical methods, experimentation design, causal inference, and forecasting
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and cloud-native analytics tools
- Strong track record of partnering with business stakeholders to translate questions into actionable recommendations
- Experience designing and driving self-service analytics and BI adoption initiatives
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex findings for both technical and executive audiences
- Experience with data visualisation best practices and dashboard design
- Strong people management skills: coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development
- Experience delivering analytical outcomes in a scaling SaaS environment with competing priorities across multiple business functions
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience with product analytics concepts: cohort analysis, retention curves, user segmentation, and feature adoption measurement
- Familiarity with product analytics tooling (Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar via SQL)
- Experience in the digital marketing technology or partnership/affiliate industry
- Comfort with ambiguity in data definitions and business logic, particularly in build-from-scratch environments
- Exposure to dbt or semantic layer tooling
