As a Data Analytics Intern in the IEL IT Department, you will be responsible for helping provide data analytics insight which includes conducting and delivering analyses, working directly with Subject Matter Experts to develop processes that support business strategies, and preparing complex data sets from both internal and external data sources for analysis. You will be a part of the team that works closely with both business and IT groups to integrate data into critical business decisions. During this internship, you will initiate, manage, and deliver solutions to further the implementation of data driven decision-making into the business
Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):
- Create reports and interpret data from various sources to demonstrate opportunities of further inquiry
- Works as a member of a team that provides service to both internal and external users
- Communicate findings with business users
- Support development of end to end data science solutions
- Perform data visualization techniques using Power BI
- Conduct data mining and analysis to address key business risk
- Help identify trends and trouble areas that IEL can use to mitigate risk and future loss
- Expand knowledgebase and continuously learn throughout the industry from experts, current events, and case precedent
- Handle other duties as assigned
- Must be current student majoring in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or other related quantitative field.
- Experience using either R or Python to perform data cleaning and data analysis
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Experience creating data visualizations for a non-technical audience
- Familiarity with Power BI
- Preferred: Experience querying relational databases in SQL
- Preferred: Experience working in the logistics field
