Location/Division Specific Information

Discover Impactful Work: As a Data Analyst, you will be part of a distributed team passionate about reducing security findings across the Thermo Fisher Scientific landscape. This group works across Infrastructure, Security and Product Teams to determine solutions and compensating controls that reduce risk faced by our colleagues, customers and partners. Your role would be to showcase the work done by this team and highlight areas of improvement for our internal collaborators and business partners.

A day in the Life:

  • Crafting personalized web-based, engaging reports using popular libraries like React and Python.
  • Maintenance of PowerBI dashboards to include the development and maintenance of the underlying SQL database, API connections and Python scripting to a variety of data sources.
  • Building compelling, concise data visualizations to be included within PowerBI dashboards for the consumption by executive leadership.
  • Ensuring data quality for partners by working with Qualys and Wiz tools.
  • Cleaning and preprocessing data to minimize false positives and duplicate data entries
  • Extracting, redefining and loading data into actionable formats
  • Analyzing data to pinpoint areas where business processes can be optimized or improved.

Keys to Success:

This person will be able to identify and drive implementation of data reporting and dashboarding to a wide variety of colleagues from executive leadership to analysts. This will require a creative, problem-solving approach and can-do demeanor that is continuously learning and challenging norms.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering or other relevant field. Equivalent work experience also accepted.

Experience

  • 2+ year of experience in developing and maintaining PowerBI (or similar reporting tool) applications and underlying data sources.
  • 2+ years of experience building websites with commonly used reactive libraries.
  • Proficiency in SQL or similar databases acquired through at least two years of practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with API integrations.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python or similar programming languages.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrable experience with PowerBI, website development, SQL databases, API connectivity and Python
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, business and executive leaders to assist in clear understanding of requirements.
  • Identifying and reporting on security vulnerabilities, risks, and incidents using industry standard Vulnerability Management tools such as Qualys or Wiz.io.
  • Advanced English is required.
