Job Summary

A Data Analyst with our Solutions Development Department is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence and reporting solutions that support data driven decision making across the organization. This role works closely with business stakeholders to independently gather requirements, identify gaps in existing data and reporting, and recommend scalable, sustainable BI solutions. The successful candidate will translate business needs into high quality Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards that deliver actionable insights.
This is a hybrid role, with 1–2 days per week expected in person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Project Manager/Stakeholders to help define requirements and advise on solutions that best meet business needs and system design.
  • Working with Software Architect to ensure adherence to best practices, security, and system architecture.
  • Collaborating with IT team to integrate Power BI solutions with underlying data sources and enterprise systems.
  • Working directly with business stakeholders to independently gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements, including KPIs, metrics, and success criteria.
  • Proactively identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities in existing data and reporting, and recommending appropriate Power BI, data modeling, or process improvements.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and reports using best practices for performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Translating business requirements into effective data visualizations, KPIs, and analytical outputs that are easily understood by non‑technical audiences.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies, stakeholder reviews, and solution walkthroughs or demos as required.
  • Providing accurate estimates to help anchor iteration cycle.  
  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation including data definitions, report logic, and solution designs.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or Power BI development.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, data modeling.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and strong SQL skills (e.g., SQL Server or similar).
  • Proficiency with Azure, data warehousing concepts, or Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate).
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in accordance with established parameters.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in IT, computer systems or technology

Salary Range - $85,000 to $95,000 annually
