The Team: Data Transformation is responsible for driving key automation projects, machine learning based solutions and lean initiatives across S&P Global Market Intelligence. We are responsible for creating, planning, and delivering transformational projects for the company using state of the art technologies and data science methods, developed either in house or in partnership with vendors. We are transforming the way we are collecting the essential intelligence our clients need to do decision with conviction, delivering it faster and at scale while maintaining the highest quality standards. Data Transformation has three major functions – Cognitive Automation, RPA and Data Management. We are centralized team looking after the web scrapping and web extraction need across the division

The Impact:

  • The current opening is with one of the company’s support division that works on different applications to extract data from different websites and notify to internal customers. As the team provides the data to the product team, the work is very critical and demands relevancy and accuracy.

  • Opportunity to work and support other projects (as per business requirement)

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding client requirements and priority. Provide accurate, relevant, and complete solution to the clients
  • Building web crawlers using various internal and external tools to extraction and deliver relevant data and information to our internal clients
  • Reviewing feedback & making changes to existing web crawlers as required
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining the crawlers which are live, to deliver timely alerts (or) output
  • Execute root causing of data lapses and gaps in coverage
  • Understand the working of the dataset, workflows and have strong working knowledge of work tools
  • Provides input and ideas for new collection methods and product enhancements related to the dataset. Thinking out the box to make the process lean and add value to the Organization
  • Work on projects as an when they come up and ensure that they are completed within the given time span maintaining the desired quality

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in MNC
  • 6months-2 years of python programming experience + exposure to web crawling and understanding of html, css, xpath (selenium, scrapy, pandas)
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, JS, CSS, and other element identifications.
  • Familiarity with data extraction process and tools preferred
  • Having knowledge of SQL and database is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Excel will be a plus point
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment, while following flexible schedule to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable taking initiatives and finding creative solutions for complex problems
  • Good Communication Skills is a must.
  • Flexibility and attitude for Multi-tasking.
  • Problem-solving and effective Inter-personal skills
  • Willingness to work in all shifts on rotation if required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Computers (MCA, MTech)
  • Knowledge of SQL is preferred
