Data Analyst, Publications (Fix Term Contract / Secondment for 12-18 months )

Hybrid model of work: 3 days in office, 2 remote per week

Based within AstraZeneca’s BioPharmaceuticals R&D division, the Publications Operations team is responsible for management of the enterprise-wide Publications Management System (iEnvision), overseeing data management and reporting, delivering training to ensure procedural compliance, and coordinating the review and approval of scientific publications ahead of external dissemination. 

As a vital member of the team, the Data Analystwill transform complex data into actionable insights and design and maintain robust reporting and dashboards while ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance. 

Responsibilities 

  • Data Modelling: Design, implement, and optimize logical and physical data models to support reporting and analytics. 

  • Data Model Maintenance: Take ownership of maintaining and evolving the data model, ensuring consistency, scalability, and data quality. 

  • Power BI Development: Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards, including layouts, visuals, and data transformations. 

  • Scalable Analytics Solutions: Build coherent, scalable solutions that address reporting and analytical needs across the organization. 

  • Process Automation (Power Automate): Develop automated workflows and processes using Power Automate to streamline data and report operations. 

  • DAX Measures: Create efficient, well-structured DAX measures and calculations to support robust analytics in Power BI. 

  • SQL Expertise: Write efficient SQL queries across multiple platforms, including PostgreSQL, TSQL (SQL Server), and Amazon Redshift SQL. 

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 

  • Requires 2+ years of experience working autonomously in a demanding office environment; proficiency working with BI tools, database systems, process and compliance. 

  • High degree of skill in analysing and processing information, time management, organization and maintaining confidentiality. 

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively, to manage and prioritize multiple projects from conception to completion, working in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities. 

  • Exhibits openness and readiness to learn new tools and technical solutions. 

Desirable requirements: 

  • Relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience. 

  • Knowledge of scientific publication process.
