Job Description:
The Analyst supports data-informed initiatives, including clinical quality, financial performance, and population health by gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data as a compelling story to the Hill Physicians team and its collaborating partners. Within this classification, analysts may focus on reporting and visualization, or analytical consultation and modeling. Analysts work as members of teams committed to using and promoting industry-standard best practices and to addressing new problems with innovative solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Define analysis requirements and interprets analytic results, identify primary drivers
Conduct driver analysis to identify key factors influencing health outcomes and predict future utilization of health care services
Independently fulfill asks with appropriate use of analytical methods, trend analysis, report design and development
Perform in-depth data analyses of reports and datasets, e.g., of medical claims and pharmacy data, and offer narrative interpretations and business recommendations or conclusions, where appropriate
Assist internal and external stakeholders with appropriate use of standardized reports, analytical approaches to population management and quality improvement programs
Collaborate with end users to assess reporting requirements and translate business needs into actionable insights, guiding the analytical approach to deliver relevant and impactful data-driven solutions
Work with advanced graphic tools, including dashboards and other visual displays, to provide clear and insightful views of performance
Utilize advanced querying techniques for complex data manipulation and statistical analyses
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, informatics, statistics, public health, or related field with coursework in quantitative analysis
Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 2 years of professional analytics-related experience.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize multiple projects and problem-solve under tight deadlines and resource constraints
Clear written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills, including ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to function as an integral part of a team in a rapidly changing work environment
Familiarity with basic healthcare data sets such as patient records, claims data, and demographic information.
Basic understanding of healthcare processes, including how clinical data, claims, and authorizations flow through the system.
Knowledge of key healthcare metrics and apply them to business and operational analysis, such as cost analysis, utilization rates, and clinical performance.
Ability to conduct more advanced data analysis, such as trend analysis, outlier identification, driver identification, with some guidance.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite, including pivot tables and advanced formulas and functions
Proficiency in querying languages such as SQL
Experience with advanced data visualization tools such as Tableau or GIS software (ArcGIS) preferred
Experience with advanced analytic programs/languages such as SAS or R preferred
Additional Information:
Salary: $87,000 - $113,000 Annual
