Houlihan Lokey (NYSE: HLI) is seeking a detail-oriented, analytically driven Data Analyst to join our Financial Restructuring Group’s Operations Team. This role reports to a Senior Vice President within the FR Ops Team. In this role, you will drive enhancements to the group’s data collection infrastructure and translate raw information into actionable competitive intelligence. You will streamline marketing initiatives, sharpen go-to-market strategies, and build performance-tracking frameworks that support the most active restructuring practice in the world - while developing and maintaining benchmarking data that global deal teams rely on every day.

Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and refine competitive intelligence reporting and market-facing analytics to inform go-to-market strategy and business development efforts
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of Houlihan Lokey’s market share, win rates, and client hiring patterns across the private equity and credit landscape
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of screening tools that drive our origination efforts within Financial Restructuring
  • Maintain and enhance our proprietary benchmarking information for the Financial Restructuring Group, including Pitchbooks and various studies (Fee, DIP, MIP, etc.) relevant to deal teams on a regular basis
  • Prepare internal management analyses, including capacity reports, revenue tracking, and other performance metrics to support FR leadership and executive decision-making
  • Support the preparation of materials for CEO, CFO, and Board-level reporting, with the understanding that certain analyses may be incorporated into public company filings
  • Develop ad-hoc reports, in-depth analyses, and high-impact materials to support global bankers and senior leadership
  • Identify and implement AI-driven workflows to enhance data analysis, marketing, and reporting efficiency
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and credit market developments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with corporate departments – including Accounting, Legal, IT, Marketing, and Human Capital Management - to support management infrastructure, analytics capabilities, and group-level alignment
  • Ensure the highest standards of data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis, while monitoring data enrichment practices

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 1–3 years of investment banking experience; Financial Restructuring background preferred
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential
  • Experience with financial data platforms and CRM systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Octus, Debtwire, CapIQ, PitchBook, Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, and credit/restructuring market dynamics
  • Proficiency with AI tools for financial research and productivity (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini); ability to apply AI workflows to data analysis and document synthesis
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all levels of staff
  • The ability to professionally represent the group within internal and external settings
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence

Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:

$175,000-$200,000
