Major Duties:
Qualifications: MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience translating customer needs into data products. 2. Demonstrated experience analyzing and/or interpreting data to identify patterns, trends, or relationships among variables to inform decisions. 3. Demonstrated experience with structured and unstructured databases such as, but not limited to: Oracle, Elastic, Postgres SQL, and/or MySQL. 4. Familiarity with or knowledge of the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process. 5. Familiarity with or knowledge of data analytic and statistical modeling techniques such as: classification; regression; similarity matching; clustering; co-occurrence grouping; profiling; link prediction; data reduction; stochastic modeling; A-B testing; network analysis, and/or causal modelling. 6. Demonstrated experience applying data visualization techniques with common software tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, ggplot2, Excel, etc.) to inform exploratory data analysis and/or generate data visualization products for internal/external audiences. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Design, Operations Research, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience that requires the application of tools and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data, or in a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: Experience working with multiple projects simultaneously. 2. Experience communicating technical analysis/findings to non-technical and technical audiences such as decision makers through written, visual, and/or verbal reports and/or briefings. 3. Experience working with business processes to improve efficiency and support program improvements. 4. Experience working with customer organizations or operations (e.g., military, policy-makers, and law enforcement). 5. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment or as part of a team.
