Role Overview
We are hiring a Managing Director to provide enterprise leadership for data and AI platforms that underpin Global Delivery Simplification across asset servicing operations. This role is accountable for shaping, governing, and scaling the data foundations that enable intelligent automation, generative AI, and agent‑based systems across the organization.
This is not an execution‑level data engineering role. The Managing Director owns the strategic direction, operating model, and outcomes of data platforms and data governance that power AI‑driven operational workflows in a regulated environment.
The role sits at the intersection of data strategy, AI enablement, operational simplification, and risk management, with accountability for ensuring that data used in analytics, automation, and AI decisioning is trusted, controlled, auditable, and enterprise‑ready.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data & AI Platform Strategy
Define and own the data strategy for Global Delivery Simplification, aligned to AI, automation, and operational transformation priorities.
Set the target‑state architecture for data platforms, pipelines, and data products supporting analytics, generative AI, and agent‑based execution.
Establish strategic investment priorities across data engineering, platforms, tooling, and capabilities.
Ensure alignment of data strategy with broader technology, AI, and operational roadmaps.
Data Governance, Stewardship & Controls
Own enterprise‑level accountability for data quality, lineage, lifecycle management, and control frameworks supporting AI‑enabled operations.
Set standards for business definitions, critical data elements (CDEs), calculation logic, and metadata across GD Simplification.
Establish and govern data stewardship operating models, including roles, escalation paths, and accountability.
Ensure data governance practices meet regulatory, audit, and model risk management expectations.
AI & Agentic Systems Enablement
Provide executive oversight of data foundations that support AI training, inference, and agent decisioning at scale.
Define standards for agent action constraints, data quality gates, and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
Ensure auditability and traceability of AI decisions through data lineage, versioning, and evidence capture.
Partner with AI, product, and risk leaders to ensure safe, explainable, and compliant deployment of agent‑based systems.
Operational Data Quality & Resilience
Establish enterprise data quality frameworks, exception taxonomies, and performance metrics.
Oversee monitoring of systemic data quality issues and ensure effective remediation across upstream and downstream dependencies.
Ensure data quality and control checks are embedded upstream of AI‑driven actions to protect operational integrity.
Balance data architecture decisions with cost, scalability, resilience, and operational complexity considerations.
Leadership, Collaboration & Influence
Lead and develop senior data engineering, platform, and governance leaders within GD Simplification.
Partner with Product Owners, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Audit leaders to ensure data enables measurable business outcomes.
Influence enterprise stakeholders on data and AI risk, control design, and operating model decisions.
Represent GD Simplification in senior forums related to data strategy, AI governance, and operational resilience.
Required Skills & Experience
12+ years of experience leading data engineering, data platforms, or data governance in large‑scale, regulated enterprise environments.
• Proven experience owning enterprise data strategy and operating models, not just delivery execution.
• Deep understanding of data lifecycle management, governance, controls, and audit requirements in financial services.
• Experience enabling AI, ML, generative AI, or agent‑based systems through robust data foundations.
• Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and AI concepts into business and risk outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead senior technical teams and influence across organizational boundaries.
Education & Mindset
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in complex financial services environments.
• Enterprise mindset with strong ownership of outcomes, risk posture, and long‑term sustainability.
• Comfortable operating at executive level with high visibility, regulatory scrutiny, and material business impact.
